KAPOLEI-WAIPAHU
H-1 lane closures set for Makakilo-Kunia, Paiwa

Multiple lanes of H-1 Freeway between the Makakilo and Kunia interchanges will close down at intervals this week as the Department of Transportation gets ready to install the new North-South Road interchange later this month.

Nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. through Wednesday night/Thursday morning, two lanes east-bound will be closed.

Also, one lane west-bound will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, resurfacing work at the Paiwa interchange will mean more nighttime closures. The left-turn lane at the east-bound off-ramp at the Waikele/Waipahu cut-off (Exit 7) will be shut down from 9 p.m. tonight to 4:30 a.m.

Also, the left-turn lane from Paiwa southbound heading into the Honolulu-bound freeway on-ramp will be closed.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
