Surf rising along south shores

Advertiser Staff

The latest National Weather Service forecast calls for surf to rise to 3 to 5 feet today along southern shores.

Elsewhere, surf will be 2 to 4 feet along east shores, 2 feet or less along north shores and 1 to 3 feet along west-facing shores.

The current south swell will gradually diminish Thursday and Friday. However, a new long period south swell is expected to arrive by Friday night.

The surf produced by this new swell is expected to approach the high surf advisory threshold along south-facing shores Saturday.
