Sunny days, cloudy nights expected to last the week

Moderate trade winds will last through the week along with a pattern of mostly sunny days and largely cloudy nights, the National Weather Service said.

A high pressure area remains almost stationary northeast of the state. Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas.

An upper level low pressure area moving toward the islands may increase shower intensity later in the week.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. East wind around 14 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 11 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind around 14 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 11 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind around 11 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 11 mph.
