Summer swell settling in on south-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

It looks like summer surf conditions are settling in on O'ahu with the National Weather Service forecast calling for surf of 3 to 6 feet today along Oahu's south-facing shores.

Surf along east-facing shores is expected to increase to 3 to 5 feet today.

Surf along north-facing shores will be 2 feet or less while surf along west-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet.

South swells will persist through Monday, with surf heights generally continuing at moderate levels along south-facing shores, forecasters said.

Surf heights may approach the high surf advisory threshold along south-facing shores this weekend when a new, longer-period south swell arrives. Otherwise, no other significant swells are expected.
