DHT seeks a Toto for 'The Wizard of Oz'

Advertiser Staff

Diamond Head Theatre is searching for a Toto for its upcoming musical production of "The Wizard of Oz."

The pooch plays a small but vital role, as Dorothy's companion, in the American classic.

Prospects should be a Toy Terrier, Spaniel or Toto-looking poi breed. Requirements: a calm disposition, good with children and large groups of people, well-trained and responsive to hand signals, since the dog will be exposed to a live orchestra and audience applause.

The owner, guardian or trainer must be at all rehearsals and performances.

Auditions will be from 1 to 2 p.m. June 14 at the garden lanai of DHT at 520 Makapuu Ave.

"Oz" will play July 11 through 27, with Rob Duval directing and John Rampage choreographing.
