Football clinic opens Sunday

Former Harvard quarterback Neil Rose and former University of Hawaii football standout Eddie Klaneski will head a football clinic, starting Sunday at Ala Puumalu District Park (1575 Ala Puumalu St.).

The clnics, which also feature Jacob Yoro (linebackers) and Randyn Akona (receivers), will teach various skills for quarterbacks, wide receivers, defensive backs and linebackers.

Clinics are for those ages 5-18 and will be held Sunday, June 15 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Instructions will cover, but will not be limited to:

• Proper warm up, cool down & stretching techniques;

• QB/center exchange, shotgun and 3-step & 5-step drops;

• Basic route running & scramble drill;

• Coverage concepts;

• Man-to-man & zone drops;

• Tackling basics;

• Block protection;
