Unionized workers at the Royal Kona Resort will hold a rally this afternoon at the hotel to urge management to come to an agreement on a new contract.

The 140 workers are members of UNITE HERE Local 5 and have been without a contract since it expired a year ago. Among the sticking points are wages, job security, health benefits and a safe workload.

The rally is set for 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Ali'i Drive hotel. Employees from the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort are expected to join the rally.
