Vandals damage Hilo YMCA playground set

Big Island police are seeking suspect information on a criminal property damage investigation involving the overnight destruction of a playground set at the Hilo YMCA located at West Lanikaula Street.

Acting South Hilo patrol Sgt. Kelley Matsumoto said the equipment was partially damaged sometime between 7 o'clock last night and 6:30 a.m. today. The damage was caused by paint being poured on the equipment and set on fire, Matsumoto said.
