U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS

Stephen Cayetano was recently named deputy chief of programs, project management division for the Honolulu District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Edwin Johnson was named Honolulu District's deputy chief, engineering and construction division.

HOAKOLEI COUNTRY CLUB

Hoakolei Country Club has appointed Tulinh Luciano-DeSmith as director of sales and marketing for Hawai'i's first Ernie Els Signature golf course and clubhouse.

Luciano-DeSmith previously was director of market sales for Aqua Hotels and Resorts, where she developed and managed new business for the company's 12 properties.

STARWOOD VACATION OWNERSHIP

Starwood Vacation Ownership has appointed Kahau Manzo executive chef at its new Kaua'i property, The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, which opened April 11. Manzo joined Starwood in 2004 as executive sous chef for the Moana Surfrider and the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani on O'ahu.

KAUA'I NORTH SHORE BUSINESS COUNCIL

The board of directors of the Kaua'i North Shore Business Council has elected Debra Jason vice president, taking over for Mike Stewart of Uncle Mikey's Hawaiian Foods, who resigned.

WASTE MANAGEMENT OF HAWAII

Waste Management of Hawaii recently promoted Joe Whelan to general manager. Whelan transferred from Waste Management of Pennsylvania in 2007 to serve as district manager of Waimanalo Gulch Landfill.

As general manager, Whelan will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the three Waste Management-operated landfills in Hawai'i, including Waimanalo Gulch on O'ahu, Kekaha Landfill on Kaua'i and West Hawai'i Landfill on the Big Island.

REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF THE PACIFIC

Sue Ann Moriwaki has been promoted to vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific with responsibilities for overseeing the financial performance of REHAB Hospital and its Foundation.

Audrey Torres has been promoted to vice president and chief nursing officer, responsible for overseeing nursing, pharmacy, central supply, radiology and laboratory.

Susan Fujita has been promoted to director, inpatient therapy services, and will oversee clinical and administrative operations of all inpatient therapy.

Lori Ho has been named vice president of outpatient network, with responsibility for outpatient services, both at REHAB Hospital in Nu'uanu and at its seven outpatient clinics on O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island.

Terry Peacock has been named director of marketing and referral development, including overseeing public relations, advertising and building collaborative relations with referring physicians and hospitals for all of REHAB's services.
