PUNCHBOWL
Garage sale on Saturday will help fight cancer

Friends of Norman Nakamoto, the late director of the Catholic Youth Organization, will hold a benefit garage sale Saturday to raise money in his honor.

Proceeds will help fund cancer studies at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Nakamoto died Sept. 8, 2007, of cancer. He was 69.

The sale and silent auction will run 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Punchbowl Holy Ghost grounds, at 1774 Puowaina Drive. The sale will feature household items from Nakamoto's home and donations from his friends.

In addition to his work with the youth organization, Nakamoto was the parish relations and special projects director for Catholic Charities Hawaii.
