bebe, the on-trend womenswear chain, has opened a flagship store in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. In a nod to the significance of Honolulu to its national retail operations, Manny Mashouf, the founder and CEO of bebe Stores Inc., came to Honolulu for the opening — as did 15 colorful new designs, sold exclusively at the Royal Hawaiian Center location.

Mashouf, a native of Tehran, Iran, started in 1971 with a small San Francisco boutique. There are now 208 bebe stores, 23 bebe outlet stores, 63 bebe Sport stores and one bebe accessories store.

KISA KOSMOS FASHION SHOW

First Friday takes a fashionable turn from 6 to 9 tonight at 808 Real Estate, 1145 Bethel St.

Featured designer will be Kisa Kosmos with her fall 2008 line of corsets and tops. Her look is a little bit punk, a little bit rock 'n' roll, with black corsets in satin and velvet, spiked with a shot of red. Check her out online at www.kisakosmos.com.

The venue is an unconventional real-estate office that owner JoAnn Matsuo has transformed into an art gallery and venue for local artists and designers to display their work and perform their art.

CHANEL NATIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST IN TOWN

There are only three official Chanel makeup studios in the United States, and Nordstrom Ala Moana has one of them. We love that they feature adjust-able lighting so you can see yourself in daylight, office light and date light.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow, Nordstrom will welcome Chanel's national makeup artist, John Fussell. With 20 years in the beauty industry (several of them in Honolulu), Fussell has been a stylist, makeup artist and artistry trainer. For a free consultation, reservations are highly recommended. Call 953-6100, ext. 1412.

Chanel's summer collection limited-edition eyeshadows (Tigre and Nomade), selected as beauty winners by O magazine, were featured on the Oprah Winfrey show last month.

The shirts retail for $25 to $29 for adult's sizes and $16 for children's sizes, at all Crazy Shirts stores, www.crazyshirts.com or 800-771-2720.

CAMERON DIAZ LOVES PUALANI HAWAI'I BIKINIS

In the June issue of In Style magazine, actress Cameron Diaz shares a few of her favorite things — among them, the Tigress bikini by Pualani Hawai'i.

Of Honolulu designer Iwalani Isbell's suits she says, "I love surfing in Pualani Hawai'i bikinis. They're tiny, so you get a really good tan, but they stay on."

Hey, Cameron, our U magazine shares your taste. Look for Tigress in the upcoming summer issue, in your Advertiser on June 27, or at your local Starbucks.
