Beach volleyball: Walsh, May-Treanor win again

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — Olympic qualifiers Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor kept their perfect 2008 record alive, winning the Hermosa Beach Open today to run their winning streak this year to six tournaments.

Walsh and May-Treanor, who have finished first in all six AVP Crocs Tour events they've entered this season, defeated Annett Davis and Jenny Johnson Jordan for the third week in a row.

The 2004 Olympic gold medalists defeated Davis and Jordan 21-16, 21-14 in the championship match.

Walsh and May-Treanor have won 18 of the past 19 tournaments in which they've played. This weekend's title is the 58th career domestic victory for the duo.

In men's play, top seeds Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers advanced to Sunday's play with a 15-21, 21-8, 17-15 victory over Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal.
