Advertiser Staff

Police are seeking a 25-year-old man for questioning in connection with a fatal stabbing early today outside of a Kane'ohe bar.

The stabbing of a man, 19, in the parking lot of Club Komomai located just off Kamehameha Highway near the Kane'ohe Shopping Center strip mall and behind the Honolulu Fire Department station was reported at 12:31 a.m.

The victim was taken to Castle Medical Center where he died at 12:58 a.m. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office today declined release the man's name. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow to determine cause and manner of death.

According to police, the suspect was arguing with a woman believed to be his girlfriend and allegedly struck her. The victim reportedly intervened and was stabbed with a folding knife.

The suspect, who fled the scene, has a criminal conviction record.
