If there was one pitcher in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association who could be described as "dominant" this past softball season, it was Moanalua's Sarah Robinson.

She had an amazing 19 strikeouts (two short of the maximum) against Roosevelt, 17 Ks vs. Kaimuki, 14 in another game against Roosevelt, 11 vs. Castle and 10 against Kalaheo.

Robinson's dominance was recognized by league coaches, who recently voted her as Eastern Division Player of the Year.

Robinson threw two-hitters against Kaimuki, Roosevelt and Kailua (eight strikeouts), and also tossed a three-hitter vs. Kailua. She also was a big power-hitting threat at the plate, going 4 for 4 against both Kalani and Kalaheo.

East champion Moanalua and Castle each led the way with three East all-star first-team selections.

Moanalua was represented by Robinson, first baseman Britni Ronolo and outfielder Dawn Dela Cruz. Castle placed second baseman Kori Berinobis, outfielder Kaitlyn Wills and catcher Kelsea Berinobis.

Kailua and Roosevelt each had two players selected.

Kailua was represented by second baseman Zsalei Kamaka and designated player Kawehilani Hall. Roosevelt placed shortstop Charisse Tanabe and outfielder Cierra Kapea.

Kalaheo utility player Caira Pires rounds out the first team.

Ronolo, Dela Cruz and Pires are repeat first-team selections along with Robinson, who was Player of the Year last season. Ronolo, a power-hitting senior, has made the East all-star first team four straight times.

Roosevelt's Clay Okamura was named Coach of the Year.
