WINE AND CHILI FIESTA

Among those to be honored at the 2008 Maui Film Festival in Wailea Wednesday through Sunday will be Pierce Brosnan, Virginia Madsen, Felicity Huffman and Dennis Quaid. The 9th annual celebration of ground-breaking films, alternative and artistic films begins Wednesday and continues through Sunday with film showings, panel discussions, culinary events and the festival's signature outdoor screenings "under the stars." NATIONAL FOREST'S 70TH ANNIVERSARY

The Olympic National Forest in Washington state will observe the park's 70th anniversary and honors the park's benefactors, Franklin and Teddy Roosevelt, with a three-day event June 27-29. The weekend's celebration begins with the debut of a new museum display featuring memorabilia from Franklin D. Roosevelt's visit to the park in 1938.
