Advertiser Staff

A 29-year-old Hilo man died Sunday of injuries he suffered after he jumped from a ledge at Pe'epe'e Falls in the upper Pi'ihonua area of Hilo.

Hawaii County Fire Department personnel using a rescue helicopter recovered the body of Jensen Adam Stein, who was pronounced dead at Hilo Medical Center at 1:36 p.m.

Police said they were called to the falls at 11:25 a.m. by onlookers who reported a man jumped and landed on a rock outcrop about 70 to 80 feet below.
