PALAMA
Free kidney screenings will be available June 22

The National Kidney Foundation and Aloha Medical Mission will offer free kidney health screenings June 22 at Palama Settlement.

The screenings will be offered 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must be 18 years or older. Fasting eight hours prior to the screening is recommended, but not required.

Space is limited to 125 people, so pre-registration is encouraged.

The screenings are meant to educate individuals at risk for kidney disease, including those with diabetes, high blood pressure or those who have a family history of the diseases.

Participants will be weighed, have their blood pressure taken, and give blood and urine samples.

To pre-register or for more information, call Aloha Medical Mission at 841-4489 or National Kidney Foundation-Hawai'i at 589-8921.
