Public input sought on wildfire protection plan

The Kaua'i Fire Department announced yesterday it is seeking public input on the Kaua'i Community Wildfire Protection Plan.

The focus of the plan is on developing strategies for the protection of residents, homes, resources, and essential infrastructure from the damage caused by wildfires.

This effort involves collaboration between county, state, and federal agencies and the community.

Anyone interested in providing input is encouraged to attend public informational meetings scheduled on the following dates:

June 23, 7 p.m., Waimea Neighborhood Center

June 24, 7 p.m., Kapa'a Neighborhood Center

June 25, 7 p.m., Lihu'e Neighborhood Center
