Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has extended a flood advisory for Oahu until 7:30 a.m. today.

At 4:30 a.m., radar showed a heavy rains near Kahalu'u, about 11 miles north of Honolulu.

The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary, Weather Service forecasters said.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to, Punalu'u, Waiahole, Whitmore Village, Waikane, Wahiawa, Pupukea, Ka'a'awa, and Hau'ula.

Rainfall and runoff will cause hazardous driving conditions resulting from ponding, reduced visibility and poor breaking action, weather officials said.
