Reckless Waimanalo driver charged with drug offense

A man's reckless driving in Waimanalo on Tuesday attracted the attention of police and eventually led to charges for an alleged drug offense.

Mohomiid A. Wicks, 29, who gave no local permanent address at booking, was charged with third-degree promoting of a dangerous drug and resisting an order to stop. His bail totals $25,000.

A police officer allegedly saw a car Wicks was driving collide with a "fixed object."

Wicks allegedly drove off with the officer in pursuit and collided with a parked car and another "fixed object."

While trying to flee arrest, Wicks allegedly was seen discarding a suspected drug pipe.

Wicks is also being held on an outstanding $350 warrant. His initial appearance is tomorrow at District Court.

Wicks' criminal record includes five prior convictions.
