'EWA BEACH
U.S. Vets' Patriot Run still accepting entrants

Applications will be accepted through race day for U.S. Vets' 5K Patriot Run that begins at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Iroquois Point Island Club. Pre-race ceremonies begin at 4 p.m.

To apply, contact Kymberly Pine at 682-6051 or 352-5050. Or go to www.usvetsinc.org.

The registration deadline has passed, but entries will be accepted until race morning for a fee of $30.

The race will raise money for U.S. Vets, which helps house homeless veterans.

Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue, carry flags, and to walk or run in honor of a loved one who is a veteran or serving in the armed forces.

A free concert on the beach featuring Corey Oliveros, plus games for kids, food and family fun will be held from 4 to 7 p.m.

Iroquois Point Island Club is the main sponsor of the event. Co-sponsors include the Great Aloha Run, The Honolulu Advertiser and StorSecure Kapolei.
