Weather: Heavy rains possible again today

Advertiser Staff

Light trade winds will continue through the weekend and into the early part of the new week, the National Weather Service said.

Showers carried by the wind will favor windward and mauka areas as well as areas of converging wind flow on the lee side of the islands, forecasters said.

A low pressure system will linger over the state for another day, keeping the atmosphere unstable and possibly resulting in heavy showers.

Following is a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
