Services for a concrete worker who died last week in a Kaka'ako construction site accident are set for June 23 and 24 at Mililani Memorial Park Mortuary.

Greg Wong, 50, was killed June 2 when he was struck in the head by the boom of a concrete pumping truck at 1009 Kapi'olani Blvd., where the Moana Vista condominium project is under way.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Wong was an employee of American Standard Concrete Pumping Hawaii. Gregory Perrin, president of the company, said in a news release that the business was devastated by the loss.

"All of us at American Standard will miss Greg very much," Perrin said. "As a concrete pump operator, Greg was extremely dedicated to his craft, held the highest standards for excellence, was a great teacher and an inspiration to young operators."

Perrin said Wong had 30 years of experience as an operator.

Wong's family is accepting donations to help with funeral and other costs. Make checks payable to Veron Wong and mail to American Standard Concrete Pumping, 94-400 Koaki St., Waipahu, HI 96797. Donation checks can also be dropped off at any American Savings Bank branch.

Services for Wong will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. June 23 at Mililani Memorial Park Mortuary's Mauka Chapel, 94-560 Kamehameha Highway.

On June 24, a viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with funeral services to follow. Wong will be buried at Mililani Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m.

Wong is survived by wife Veron; sons Greg, Francis, Bronson and Justin; daughter Francesca Davis; brothers Larry Panui, Bobby Smith, John Smith, Philip Wong, Steven Iimas and Vincent Burton; sisters Carol Hoohuli, Grace Liana and Francine Morse; and 11 grandchildren.
