Hawai'i's Annett Wichmann scored a school-record 5,670 points to finish sixth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships today at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Arizona State's Jacquelyn Johnson won her fourth consecutive NCAA heptathlon title with 6,053 points.

Wichmann's sixth place finish earns her All-America status. UH's Amber Kaufman and Emily Sheppard also received All-America status in the high jump on Friday.

UH never had more than one All-American at a championship.

"To have three All-Americans is huge, I don't know how many other schools can say that," head coach Carmyn James said.

The three earned the Rainbow Wahine 10 team points and a tie for 25th,UH's highest finish. LSU won the women's title with 67 points.

Wichmann, a senior from Jena, Germany, was in 12th place entering today's final events. She placed 21st in the long jump (18 feet, 5 inches). third in the javelin with a personal-best 153-7, and fourth in the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 19.18 seconds.

Last year, Wichmann placed ninth with a then-school record 5,649 points.
