High surf advisory for south shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory will continue until 6 p.m. tonight for all south shores, the National Weather Service said, with surf expected to be 5 to 8 feet.

The high surf can produce hazardous waves and dangerous rip currents.

Elsewhere, surf will be 2 to 4 feet along east shores, 3 to 5 feet along west shores and 2 feet or less along north shores.

A slight increase in the south swell will arrive this evening and linger through Wednesday night. Swell periods will gradually decrease after today. A slightly smaller south swell will persist from Thursday through next weekend.
