Teens in stable condition after Kalihi stabbing

Advertiser Staff

Police late yesterday afternoon arrested a 22-year-old man as a suspect in the stabbing of two boys, ages 19 and 15, in Kalihi.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics transported the two youths from a home on Rose Street to The Queen's Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition upon arrival.

The incident was reported about 5:35 p.m.

Police arrested the suspect within minutes at a nearby site fronting 2336 Kahauiki St.

Patrol officers responding to a report of a weapons offense found the two teens with stab wounds, police said.

The suspect was positively identified and arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault. Police did not say what triggered the incident.
