UPDATING: Yep, singer Mariah Carey was indeed shooting a video — "I'll Be Lovin' U Longtime" — on O'ahu last Monday, specifically at Sea Life Park, from late evening to the wee hours Tuesday.

Several segments were done; one of Carey, 39, with the park's dolphins and also with the world's only wolphin — that's a whale and dolphin mix — at the park's Dolphin Cove. Footage also was done at Makapu'u Meadows, where Sea Life Park's lu'au is staged thrice weekly. Hip-hop artist T.I. was featured, too, and Carey's hubby, Nick Cannon, accompanied her throughout the filming. If there was a sore point, it might have been Carey's back and/or legs, strained from walking in heels on sand. Those pics appeared on a Web site posting.

Jesus Bravo, Sea Life Park Hawai'i manager, said he was pleased to have the diva singer on site frolicking with the dolphins and wolphin. ...

Rapper-actor Cannon, 27, must be lovin' Carey a longtime, too. The day before the video shoot, he trekked to Macy's and sought out the new line of PNB hoodies for her, collected sweets from See's Candies, and ventured to Tiffany's to explore a gift. He's a great shopper — went to Champs Sports and Louis Vuitton, too. No word on what he purchased there, however. ...

ITEMIZATIONS: Roy Sakuma's "I Am What I Am," his song about being who you are and providing hope and inspiration for youngsters, has become an empowering message at the "Starbucks Wildest Show in Town," where serenades flow each Wednesday this summer. Sakuma's vintage tune, updated recently, is emerging as an anthem that engages the crowd. "Everybody just sat there, and they sang along," Sakuma said of one performance. "I gave one child the mike and asked what the song meant, and the answer was, 'It's OK to be who I am, I don't have to try to be who I'm not.' "

With Sakuma strumming his new $5,000 KoAloha Ukulele, and singing his song, the finale also keeps the crowd attentive. "They stay till the program's over, rather than leave while the finale's going on," said Sakuma. ...

That said, Sakuma should quickly record his song, with his voice, perhaps with a keiki choir, and he should rush to get out "I Am What I Am" slogan tees for those caught up in the frenzy. Like, now. Even pal Alvin Okami, KoAloha owner, is pushing Sakuma to go for it. ...

HITHER 'N' YON: Tom and Robin Rohr are back from a New York trek, where they had some enchanted evening watching Loretta Ables Sayre in "South Pacific" at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center. "She's such a rarity," said Robin, who brought a stash of Island snacks ("all kinds of cracked seed") for Ables Sayre to share with her cast. She introduced her colleagues to li hing mui and more. Robin Rohr, who coauthored "Chicken Soup for the Soul of Hawai'i," also reunited with longtime pal Bo Derek in the Big Apple. Hubby Tom is Waikoloa Land developer. ...
