Advertiser Staff

Police arrested an 18-year-old Kane'ohe man Monday night after he allegedly forced his way into a home on Ha'iku Road to try to collect on a drug debt and then assaulted the 19-year-old man who owed him money and the man's 41-year-old father.

Police said the man who was arrested went to the home about 8 p.m. and got into an argument with the 19-year-old man who lives at the home.

Police were told the 19-year-old man was assaulted during the argument and that the 41-year-old man was struck after he tried to intervene and ordered the intruder out of the home.

The suspect was arrested on nearby Emepela Place on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, which is a felony offense.

He was also arrested on suspicion on various misdemeanors including third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, second-degree terroristic threatening and two counts of third-degree assault.
