Five Hawaii teams advance to Far West Regional semis

WAIPAHU — The Honolulu Soccer Club Bulls 91 Ka'ula team won its quarterfinal match today and was one of five local teams to advance to tomorrow's semifinals of the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Regionals at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Park.

The Bulls defeated South Coast Bayern (Calif.), 2-0, in a boys under-17 match today. The Bulls will face Diablo Valley Black Pearl 90 (Calif.) in the semifinals at 8 a.m.

At boys U-19, Real Copa 89B defeated Cisco Potros, 3-2. Real Copa will face Colorado Rush Nike tomorrow at 8 a.m. Colorado Rush Nike advanced by beating HSC Bulls 89B, 5-2.

In a girls U-12 match, Leahi 96 Premier defeated Slammers, 2-1, and advances to play West Coast FC (Calif.) tomorrow at 8 a.m.

In a girls U-17 match, Leahi 91 Premier defeated Washington Premier FC 90, 2-1, this morning. Leahi will play Eagles FC (Calif.) in the semifinals at 8 a.m.

The Leahi 89 Premier team also won today, defeating Sparta 89 Premier (Utah), 2-1, in a girls U-19 match. Leahi plays FC Portland Maroon of Oregon tomorrow at 8 a.m.

In a boys U-12 match, Las Vegas Premier White defeated Bulls 96B Ka'ula, 6-0. In a girls U-15 match, Slammers (Calif.) defeated Bulls 93G Ka'ula, 4-0.

Eight Hawai'i teams advanced out of pool play to today's quarterfinal matches. Championship games will be held on Sunday.
