Jonathan Ota and Alex Ching each won two matches today to advance to tomorrow's final of the 100th Manoa Cup at Oahu Country Club.

Ota, the 2006 champion, defeated Wade Nakamura, 4 and 2, in the semifinals, while Ching, a recent Punahou graduate, went to extra holes for the second time today to defeat TJ Kua, 1 up on the 19th hole.

In the quarterfinals this morning, Ota defeated Michael Park, 5 and 3, and Ching outlasted two-time champion Travis Toyama, 1 up on the 24th hole.

Nakamura upset defending champion Kurt Nino, 3 and 2, to reach the semifinals, while Kua defeated four-time champion Brandan Kop, 1 up.

The 36-hole final to crown the state amateur match-play champion begins at 7 a.m.
