Downtown Hilo to get new traffic signals

Advertiser Staff

Work crews started work this past week on the installation of traffic signals at

the corner of Kinoole and Kamana streets in Hilo.

Traffic flow will not be interrupted, and motorists traveling on Kinoole are advised

to slow down as crews are working along the side of the road on the

infrastructure prior to installing the signals.

The new traffic signal will have a countdown clock for pedestrians crossing the

street. The work is scheduled for completion before the end the year.

Simultaneously, installation for the traffic signal at the intersection of Mohouli and

Kumukoa streets continues. The Mohouli traffic signal is scheduled for

completion in November.
