Golf: Sluman birdies 15, 17, 18 for Champions Tour win

CONCORD, Mass. — Jeff Sluman has won the Bank of America Championship on the Champions Tour by two strokes with birdies on three of the last four holes.

He birdied the 15th to break a tie with Loren Roberts, then made putts of more than 30 feet on the 17th and 18th today to beat Roberts, the second-round leader.

Sluman, who joined the senior tour after turning 50 last Sept. 11, shot an 8-under 64 and finished at 17-under 199 at the 6,471-yard Nashawtuc Country Club. It was his first victory since the Greater Milwaukee Open on the PGA tour in June 2002.
