Friends of the Library booksale starts Saturday

The Friends of the Library of Hawaii will open its 61st annual booksale to the public on Saturday at the McKinley High School cafeteria. This year, the sale will be held in conjunction with Hawaii Public Radio's Almost New Music Sale.

The sales take place from Saturday through July 6th, although it will be closed on July 3 and 4.

Cookbooks, Hawaiiana, romance novels, science fiction, albums, sheet music, travel books, DVDs, VHS tapes and children's books will be among more than 150,000 offerings.

The sale hours are:

Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

June 30, July 1-2: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

July 5 (Half-off day): 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

July 6 (All 50 cents day): 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Members of the Friends of the Library Hawaii and Hawaii Public Radio are invited to a special preview sale on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Anyone can become a member on the spot to buy books and music before the sale opens to the general public.
