Hawaiian Electric Co. restored power to about 430 customers affected by a 70-minute outage in pockets of Kaka'ako this afternoon.

Power was restored at 6:45 p.m., according to HECO spokesman Darren Pai.

The outage, which affected residents and businesses from South Street to Pi'ikoi Street, was caused by an underground cable problem at an undisclosed location, Pai said.

The outage also interrupted traffic as several traffic signals were out.
