Advertiser Staff

Chief Justice Ronald T. Y. Moon is seeking written comment from the public on the six judicial nominees for the soon-to-be-vacated Maui District Court position of Judge Douglas Ige.

Ige will be retiring Friday.

The Judicial Commission's nominees to succeed Ige are Mimi DesJardins, Michelle Drewyer, Mark Honda, Tracy Ann Jones, Kelsey Kawano and Robert Rivera.

Moon will make his selection after reviewing public comments about the character and qualifications of any of the nominees. Comments, which will be kept confidential, can be faxed to 539-4703 or mailed to Moon at the Supreme Court of Hawai'i, 417 South King Street, Honolulu, Hi., 96813.

The Chief Justice's selection is subject to State Senate confirmation.
