Weather: Mostly sunny with an occasional shower

It will be mostly sunny for the next several days with an occasional shower here and there, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Hawaii.

A high pressure are has remained steady far north of the state but is beginning to weaken resulting in a lowering of the trade winds, forecasters said.

What clouds and showers there are will affect mainly windward and mauka areas.

Here's how the next few days look at this point:

Today...Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 80 to 88. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday...Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 66 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Friday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
