Go! airlines to begin charging $25 for second checked bag

Advertiser Staff

Go! airlines said it will soon begin charging $25 for all second checked-in bags on all interisland flights.

The discount carrier said the new service charge, which goes into effect July 15, is needed to combat the soaring price of fuel.

Hawaiian Airlines, the state's largest carrier, did not immediately match the extra baggage fee but said it is studying the matter. In April, Hawaiian began charging a $25 fee for second checked-in bags on its Mainland to Hawai'i flights.
