Weather: Mostly sunny days, a few evening showers

A weather feature far north of the state will move slowly south and continue to weaken as the weekend approaches, the National Weather Service said.

This will bring about a gradual reduction in trade winds as well, according to the forecast.

Expect clouds and showers mainly over windward and mauka areas of most islands today and tonight.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies may develop by this afternoon over leeward areas of some islands, especially the Big Island.

Here's a closer look at what's in store for the next few days:

Today...Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 82 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy. Scattered showers in the evening...then isolated showers after midnight. Lows 67 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Friday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 82 to 87. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Friday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
