MAKAPU'U
Sea lion born June 9 at Sea Life Park is a girl

Sea Life Park Hawaii has a new addition to its sea lion family.

On June 9, U'ilanai, an 11-year-old California sea lion, gave birth to a pup. The baby girl, who has yet to be given a name, weighed in at about 17 pounds and measured 24 inches in length.

Sea Life Park's marine life 'ohana includes 24 dolphins, numerous sea lions, monk seals, penguins, turtles, and stingrays and many more fish from Hawaiian waters. It is also home to Keikamalu, the only known hybrid of dolphin and false killer whale, who is the mother of Kawili Kai, born at the park three years ago.
