8 from Hawaii qualify for trampoline and tumbling Junior Olympics

Eight gymnasts from Hawai'i qualified for next week's USA Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling Junior Olympic Championships in Kansas City, Mo.

Competing next week are Roosevelt freshman Kiona Esteban, La Pietra eighth-grader Joy Ogasawara, Aliamanu Middle eight-grader Tori Tamayo, Nimitz Elementary sixth-grader Marques Bottorf, Voyager School sixth-grader Anna Archibald and Stevenson Middle sixth-grader Ally Vercruyssen.

Also competing in the event that runs Tuesday through Sunday are Salt Lake Elementary fourth-grader Anuhea Keene and Sacred Hearts third-grader Dorothy Sanidad. Disciplines to be held are individual trampoline, double mini-trampoline and power tumbling.
