'Local-style' storytelling on Kauai

Kaua'i public libraries are celebrating the 2008 Hawai'i State Public Library System Children's Summer Reading Program with sessions by a local storyteller.

Janice Terukina, a veteran actress from Honolulu, will share humorous "local-style" folk tales and poetry through July 9 at the various locations. Admission is free.

Children 3 and older and adults are encouraged to attend on the following dates:

  • July 8, 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m., Lihu'e Public Library.

  • July 8, 2:30 -3:15 p.m., Koloa Public School and Library.

  • July 9, 10-10:45 a.m., Kapa'a Public Library,

  • July 9, 3-3:45 p.m., Hanapepe Public Library.

    Contact the hosting library for information, or if a sign-language interpreter or other accommodation is needed.
