Man killed in H-1 crash identified

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu medical examiner's office has identified the Mililani man killed Wednesday in a freeway collision near Waiawa as Charles Hiromasa, 54.

Autopsy findings listed the cause of death as multiple blunt injuries due to a motor vehicle collision and the manner of death as accidental.

Hiromasa was pronounced dead at the scene of a 10:26 a.m. collision on the H-1 Freeway east-bound, 400 feet east of the Farrington Highway overpass.

Police said his 2003 Toyota Matrix was struck by a 2002 Saturn sedan that was changing lanes, causing it to hit a freeway light pole and flip over against a concrete barrier.
