Weather: Mostly sunny weekend days expected

The National Weather Service forecast for Hawaii continues to call for a weakening of the trade winds throughout the weekend, allowing sea and land breezes to prevail.

Rainfall will be light overall and what there is will shift from windward to lee slopes in the afternoon, according to the forecast.

An approaching weather feature may bring light rain to much of the state between Tuesday night and Thursday.

Here's a more detailed look at the weekend weather:

Today...Mostly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs 82 to 87. East winds up to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy. Isolated showers in the evening. Lows 67 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday...Sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny. Isolated showers. Highs 82 to 88. East winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday Night...Mostly clear. Lows 67 to 76. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

Monday...Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny. Isolated showers. Highs 83 to 88. East winds around 10 mph in the morning becoming light. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday Night...Mostly clear with isolated showers. Lows 65 to 75. Light winds. Chance of rain 20 percent.
