Bell, Isagawa lead PGA juniors

Kane'ohe's Alika Bell and Wailuku's Cassy Isagawa lead the boys and girls age 13-18 divisions, respectively, after the first round of the Aloha Section Junior PGA Championship yesterday.

Bell carded a 3-under-par 68 for a one-stroke lead over Kailua's David Fink at the Ka'anapali Royal Course at the Ka'anapali Golf Resort.

Isagawa fired a 5-under-par 66 for a 3-stroke lead over Honolulu's Kristina Merkle.

Meanwhile, leaders of the 12-and-under divisions played at the par-66 Ka'anapali Kai Course were: Honolulu's Remington Hirano (39, boys, age 7-8); Pukalani's Jaelin Ishikawa (64, girls, 7-8); Hilo's Matthew Camacho (67, boys, 9-12); Hilo's Ciera Min and Honolulu's Emi Koga (tied 66, girls, 9-12).

NAKAGAWA LEADS BY 1

Robert Nakagawa shot an even-par 72 for a one-stroke lead over Cannen Shaw, Randy Yim and Tomi Yamada after the first round of the Pearl President's Cup at the Pearl Country Club yesterday.

Ronald Ching (74) was one stroke behind, while Kelvin Sato, Lin Akiyama and Wendell Kop were three behind at 75.

Other flight leaders were: Philip Delisi (74, B flight) and Alan Arakawa and Chad Ikezawa (tied 83, C flight).
