Wahiawa beating victim 'extremely critical'

Advertiser Staff

A 20-year-old male beating victim was in extremely critical but stable condition at The Queen's Medical Center today while charges are pending against three Wahiawa men stemming from an altercation late last night, police said.

Two of the suspects, 25 and 24, were arrested at 247 California Ave. at 11 p.m. while a third man, 21, was arrested in front of 227 California Ave. at 11:45 p.m. All were booked on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree assault.

Police said the suspects were involved in an argument at 10:25 p.m. with three other men that escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspects allegedly used bats and pipes to beat two 21-year-old men and the hospitalized victim on the head.

The two 21-year-old men were treated at Wahiawa General Hospital and Queen's, respectively, and later released.
