Teen suspects sought in Nimitz Highway shooting

Advertiser Staff

Police are searching for two male youths, ages 17 and 18, suspected of firing shots at 10 people in a truck early this morning on North Nimitz Highway.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The suspects may face charges of first-degree reckless endangering. The case has been referred to the Criminal Investigation Division's major crimes unit.

A man, 23, was driving a truck carrying nine girls ages 14 to 18.

Truck passengers told police they were on a highway between Sand Island and Hickam Air Force Base at 1:40 a.m. when they noticed they were being followed by three vehicles.

Police said the two suspects had guns and fired at the victims before driving away. No arrests have been made.
