Aina Haina library to host Alzheimer's program

Aina Haina Public Library will next month to host a program titled "Understanding Memory Loss," an introduction to Alzheimer's disease.

Arlene Ige, education and training coordinator of the Alzheimer's Association Aloha Chapter, will conduct the free program set for 10:30 a.m. July 26.

Ige will explain what Alzheimer's disease is and discuss how to recognize changes in a person due to normal aging versus the warning signs of Alzheimer's disease. She will also offer tips on what you can do to lead a more brain-healthy lifestyle.

This one-hour program, suitable for individuals ages 12 and older, and will be held in the library's meeting room.

Call the library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
