Rainbow Wahine pound Pittsburgh in softball, 8-1

Kate Robinson pitched a four-hitter, striking out 10, and went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead No. 15 Hawai'i to an 8-1 victory over Pittsburgh today in the Eller Media Stadium Classic softball tournament at Las Vegas.

The Rainbow Wahine, who finished 3-2 in the tournament, are 13-4 overall. Pittsburgh is 7-6.

Robinson didn't walk a batter in a complete-game performance. Mary Hecker hit a bases-empty homer in the bottom of the fourth for Pittsburgh.

Robinson had two-run double in the first inning and also scored two runs.

Brandi Peiler also went 3 for 4 for the Rainbow Wahine, who had 13 hits.
