Road work on Big Island this week

Hawai'i County will begin road projects today through Friday in the Kona area.

Roads under repair are: Tomi Tomi Drive off of Palani Road and Mamalahoa Highway in front of Yano Hall in Captain Cook and Ka`iminani Drive in Kona Palisades.

The county will begin repairing a 1/4-mile portion of Tomi Tomi Drive off Palani Road today. Work is schedule to be completed by Friday. Residents are asked not to park on the road shoulders between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays while the road work is being done.

On Tuesday, March 4, one lane of Mamalahoa Highway in front of Yano Hall will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for roadwork. Motorists should expect

delays. Ka`iminani Drive, near the intersection of Mamalahoa Highway, will be paved on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. One lane will be closed.

Motorists should expect 30-minute delays and are advised to use Hinalani Street as an alternate route.
