More sunshine, but no wind relief for Hawaiian Islands

A high pressure system is staying put over or just north the Hawaiian Islands this week, bringing mostly sunny and dry weather with a chance of light showers over interior areas.

The National Weather Service's extended forecast:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 64. East wind around 7 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind at 6 mph becoming south.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. East wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind at 7 mph becoming south.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. East wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. East wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Light south wind.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. East wind around 13 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70. East wind around 7 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
